Puting My faith in Elastix 1 Year ago Karma: 0
Hello Gururs,
I have started VOIP and PBX service provider business for small and mid size business and have decided to use Elastix as my Server, Will buy official support too, but i am very exited, have my test elastix server up and running since last week and its doing good, have to edit sip.conf my self to make remote clients work but other than that every thing works like charm, FYI i wasted 2 weeks playing with freepbx but never got it working, elastix is much better and reliable, Thanks PPL we be in touch.

asifjamal,

Well worth putting your faith into Elastix. Some elastix boxes have been running for 4 or more years with no issues.

However, if I can recommend, you should not need to edit configuration files. I suspect that your change you have made, was for the SIP NAT, which can be done using the unembedded Freepbx interface. So if you have questions, ask away....

In particular it is not a good idea to modify the SIP.conf as this file may be changed when you next upgrade. Its fine for now, but probably a good idea to do the changes via the GUI....

Regards

Bob

Hi i have run a server that is running for 150 days without any problem , Even restart PC for refreshing the services,i think Elastix is very Powerful and stable and a good solution for small to medium .
I have a bad experience with changes files manually , some time , some character may typed wrong , i agree with bob , for changes from GUI in free PBX
